What mother says - What to do with all this extra cuteness?

Image
I was a really fat baby. When I was a year old, people would ask my mum if I were 2 because I was big and really solid  (it's okay, I think fat babies are extra cute #consolesself). My mum says the cause of my ahem "extra cuteness" was my maid who used to stuff me and said I'd look more prosperous! "You know what she used to feed you! She used to feed you chocolate milk and rice for dessert! My goodness! I was so afraid you were gonna be a 300 pound teenager" mum says, "...then you'd be a 300 pound adult and it'd be more difficult to find a husband. You were a year old and I was already thinking of how I was gonna put you on a diet in your 20s." Oh mother! On a different note, "Don't go and take ugly pictures of me and put it on your block,  don't say anything about me and put it there. Do you talk about me on your block ?" " No mother, never! I wouldn't dare dream of it!" Heh heh heh. Read my other entries

Why I wish TV was accessible wherever I went.

"Trixh! what happened to the TV?" mum says in a panic. Okay, TV isn't working. It's only ... the end of the world! Watching TV is an essential part of my house life. While I have dinner, I'm watching something at the corner of my eye. Painting my nails? Having tea? Combing out my dogs fur? Updating my blog? I do it all while watching movies or tv series. You could say I'm almost addicted. Almost. I suppose it doesn't help to mention that it's also become a habit that I must have something playing on my laptop while I wait to fall asleep? heh Sometimes I wish TV were accessible wherever I went, like : 1. While waiting for the dentist or doctor. Because even with an appointment, you just know you'd spend at least an hour waiting for your turn. 2. While waiting for a friend who decided to take "Malaysian timing" very very seriously . *checks time on phone. locks. unlocks. checks time on phone* 3. While at the salon. Because I can only refr

The flavour of the month.

I've never thought much of ice cream.  I mean I like ice cream but I've never had a favourite " must eat or you're losing out"  ice cream flavour, not one I'd go out of my way for anyway.  But the other day, "Oooo there's a new flavour in Baskin Robbins. Can I try this one?"   *taps annoyingly on glass* Omg it was so good, but I was so full! I just had my usual, too-much-for-dinner dinner and I was stuffed. "It's okay, I'll get some another day! Thanks!"    and I walked out of there like I usually do, unashamed, like I did them a huge favour letting me try the ice cream for free. haha A few days after, I went to One Utama for one purpose and one purpose alone - to get.my.ice cream. and guess what? It wasn't there anymore! Stupid flavour of the month, can't they have it up for more than a month? I was still quite persistent la, so I went to the branch in Uptown. and guess what? It wasn't there anymore either! Still

How to cram Siem Reap into 2 days | Day 1 : Ang Kor Wat

Image
After floating along Kampong Phluk we headed to Ang Kor Wat because, "Jou, we need to see the sunset in Angkor, apparently it's the most magical thing in the world as the sun sets over the temple" I said while she was planning our itinerary. I love my friends haha. To get into Angkor, you need to buy yourself tickets - USD20.  Here we are waiting in front instead of coming back at 5pm (when the counters open), like the kiasu Asians we are. And that's my mugshot on the right haha. Reason for mugshot is you can use the ticket for 24hours and they check the tickets everytime you enter a temple. The idealest of ideal places to catch the sunset is atop Phnom Bakheng, but there's a limit to the amount of people that enter. We weren't so lucky and the spaces were all taken up by the time we got there. Had there been a line, we'd probably would be the first ones to get there ...or the first ones after the Chinese tourists anyway but if you take a half

What my parents say - Tony Bennett

Image
I was having dinner with my dad when... " Omg dad look! Tony Bennett is coming down! You wanna go watch!?!!?" " Nice meh?" " Yea!! Don't you love all his oldies?" " Not very keen. Not my zaman" " What!" Some days later with Tony Bennett still on my mind, WHO are these people?!

Why I converted.

Many have asked me what lead to such a big decision. I really don't have an answer. It's something I've been thinking about how awhile now; the only reason it took some time was probably because..well, people were questioning my decision to do so. Asking me if I were sure, asking me if that's what was best, telling me I shouldn't make rash decisions and how I should be more adhering to something. Have you no loyalties? I guess I don't. I suppose it's hard to explain... maybe it's how I felt limited, how I'm able to do so many things now that I wasn't able to do before. So many things await me now, I'm not even sure where to start. I guess my disloyalty began when.... .... I was looking for a way to transfer my contacts to my Samsung Galaxy S4. But to start from the very beginning - It started when I was at work and I saw this magic video: OMG I NEED TO GET ONE! #effectiveadvertising or... #easilyconvinced So let me just walk you through the
