How To Have The Most Impromptu Picnic Ever.

Image
I think Bob and I are really bad at making plans. Because we always have these grand ideas that never really take flight. But on Saturday. On Saturday... "What are we doing today?" We were having brunch in a "hipster" cafe in Bangsar South, bad decision. Hipster cafes are so mainstream, I don't know what's what anymore. I'm so done with eating "hipster" breakfasts that are actually incredibly disappointing. Bad coffee. bad combo of ingredients in the dish. bad portions. tell me it's chorizo but I'm sure that's just ham and not very good ham.  But anyway... "Hmm, we could go to KL that's like an adventure right?" "Should we go for a picnic?" "What to eat?" "Is there a supermarket here ah?" and it was already the afternoon when we were arrived in Cold Storage. Made a quick dash around the place because we wanted to get there before sunset. 1. What to eat on your picnic. "Bread? with wha

"Someone sent flowers for you ma," my mum tells mama "lets take a picture to show them that you got it" I was assigned the task of photographer of course. "Wait wait, I need to put on my lipstick first" mama says pointing to her bag. "okay I'm ready now, shall I sit down over here?" she plonks herself down on the couch. I take a few pics, "okay I'll send this to the aunty"  "Wait. Let me see first how I look first" Mama wants to QC it. I pass her my phone an she expertly swipes at the screen, comparing the pictures. I'm thinking, wow. how does she know how to do that??  Bear in mind she turned 90 last year.  "hmm..look so fat here," mama says, "we take another one? We move the flowers to this side" and she pulls the bouquet basket to her side. *click click* "aiyo I look so old. How come I look so old?" "Bad lighting here ma, camera got problems" She swipes through the pictur

I (very) obviously had to have it and I begged my mum to buy it for me. I may have even cried, I can't remember. But what I do remember is her driving me all the way to One Utama one night, and me, skipping toward the board game section and picking up my PPG Monopoly set. Life was good. I loved my Monopoly Set. What 10 year old loves Monopoly?  My 10 year old self loved Monopoly. Especially one with properties like "Pokey Oaks Kindergarten" and "Fuzzy Lumpkins' Cabin" I made everyone play with me. It was a dream come true.  But over the years, somehow or rather, I completely forgot about it. I know, this is totally the beginning of "saya sebuah set monopoly edisi budak powerpuff" or something. - While I was packing to move last year,  I found my shiny, glimmering PPG Monopo
