So, About Chicago #1 & #2

#1 It's winter now and it's really cold! D: The other day I was putting the lid on my takeaway coffee and mentally told myself okay, better make sure the lid is on tight or the coffee is gonna spill on you... ...but then again, at least I'll be warmer if the coffee spills on me. -16 celsius. Those are the kinds of thoughts you have. #2 The bus works in mysterious ways In KL I just drive to get around... like most people do. Here, public transport is so convenient I'm so glad I don't have to drive! But it took me awhile to figure out how the bus worked. Like which stop to stop at, where to go, what bus number to get on and finally and especially, how to get off the bus. Okay so like most busses, there are 2 doors  - the main door and the back door. There I was waiting to get out of the back door at my stop and it didn't open! And I watched with sad eyes as we drove past my stop. I had pulled the thing! The sign flashed "stop requested" why didn't th

Things To Do In Jeju | Part 1.

Continuing from my last post about Jeju, here's a list of things I did there. But before that, forgot to mention in the previous post that : Horse meat is a delicacy there and apparently everyone eats it! How do horses get on an island?? The horses are from Mongolia and were brought in by Gengis Khan. So that's exotic and stuff. Apparently Jeju, with it's lush flat lands and greenery, was the perfect place to breed horses. It was also strategic as the Mongols wanted to invade Japan at that time.  Okay anyway, #1  Aewol Coastal Road   This was the first destination when I arrived in Jeju. I was in awe! Such blue waters, such black rocks, such clear skies. What green screen is this? There are also transparent kayaks that you can take out.  The tiny dots are the rowers on the the transparent kayaks. What would make this better? Drinking coffee on a hill overlooking the blue water, black rocks and clear skies! There are several cafes along the coastal road and the view is really

Moving.

Hello from Chicago! It's a weird feeling that I'll be living here now. #1: I said goodbye to my friends in KL and while I was sad it also seemed like I was simply going on vacation #indenialmaybe. "You'll probably feel it when you reach Chicago" My flight took forever, so that was plenty of time to come to terms with leaving. It was  Malaysia > Singapore > Hong Kong > Chicago. Nothing. No feelings. I wasn't sad nor happy nor excited nor nervous, it was just like..yeh k. #2: When I landed I caught a cold/flu from travelling and I felt super crappy. The Chicago weather probably didn't help and I was wondering why I didn't move somewhere warmer. Also got a terrible stomach ache which followed with diarrhea. So y'know things could be better. Slept from 9pm to 4.30pm the next day and I feel less sick today! So hey, I've got that going for me. Apart from that, I'm currently in an airbnb till my place is ready on Saturday. The owners of t
